Job summary

The Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex (BJCC) is seeking a Senior Accountant to maintain and review financial records, post entries, and process invoices for accounts receivable. The role supports the Senior Director of Finance and contributes to monthly close and reporting activities.

Ideal candidates have at least three years in accounting, a BA in accounting, and strong skills with reconciliation, financial statements, and reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years related knowledge, experience, and skills in accounting, account reconciliations, accounts receivable and maintenance of financial records.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field strongly preferred.
• Valid State Driver License.
• Credit check may be required.

Responsibilities

• Documents financial transactions by entering account information.
• Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
• Maintains financial records, analyzing accounts and completing invoices for accounts receivable.
• Reconciles event ticket receipts and prepares event income reports.
• Assists in end of month closing including reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
• Prepares invoices and payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
• Maintains confidentiality of financial information.
