Job summary

The Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex (BJCC) is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations, reconcile accounts and produce key financial reports under the direction of the Director of Finance. The role includes mentoring staff and ensuring adherence to internal controls.

Candidates should have a minimum seven years of accounting experience, a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, and preferably a CPA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required or strongly preferred.
• CPA preferred due to fiduciary responsibilities.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, general ledger and treasury activities.
• Reconcile financial data and produce accurate accounting reports for management and board.
• Train and mentor accounting staff; ensure confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
