Job summary

Matrix Sciences International Inc. is seeking an Accountant to join our finance team in Chicago.

You will support NetSuite ERP, automation tools, payroll systems, and reporting platforms while contributing to day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting. The role requires 5+ years of accounting or finance experience, a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, and a collaborative mindset to streamline systems and processes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting or finance experience with a strong understanding of general ledger mapping.
• Hands-on experience with an ERP accounting system (NetSuite preferred) and comfort with ERP system troubleshooting.
• Experience with Zone and/or Power BI (or similar BI reporting tools) preferred.
• Able to manage assigned projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, presentation experience, and problem-solving skills.
• A collaborative mindset and curiosity for how systems can make accounting smarter and faster.
• Supports team success by communicating clearly and pitching in on tasks outside core duties as needed.
• Demonstrate initiative, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the team.

Responsibilities

• Assist Accounts Payable: Assist with AP processes including vendor management, invoice review, and payment processing.
• Support Month-End Close: Prepare account reconciliations (such as cash, prepaids, accruals, and fixed assets), book accruals, and support variance analysis.
• Analyze Financials: Analyze monthly financial data, identify trends, and support management reporting.
• Track Metrics: Evaluate key performance indicators during the close cycle to provide useful business insights.
• Partner Across Teams: Work with Finance, Operations and IT to troubleshoot, document, and optimize accounting systems and processes.
