Job summary

Matrix Sciences in Chicago seeks an experienced Accountant to support NetSuite ERP, automation tools, payroll systems, and financial reporting while handling day-to-day accounting operations.

You will reconcile accounts, analyze financials, and collaborate with Finance, Operations, and IT to improve processes. A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with 5+ years of relevant experience is required, along with attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting or finance experience with a strong understanding of general ledger mapping.
• Hands-on experience with an ERP accounting system (NetSuite preferred) and comfort with ERP system troubleshooting.
• Experience with Zone and/or Power BI (or similar BI reporting tools) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Accounts Payable: AP processes including vendor management, invoice review, and payment processing.
• Support Month-End Close: Prepare account reconciliations (cash, prepaids, accruals, fixed assets), book accruals, and support variance analysis.
• Analyze Financials: Analyze monthly financial data, identify trends, and support management reporting.
• Track Metrics: Evaluate KPI during the close cycle to provide useful business insights.
• Partner Across Teams: Work with Finance, Operations and IT to troubleshoot, document, and optimize accounting systems and processes.
