Job summary

Caturus, a Houston-based energy company, seeks a Senior Accountant to support the accounting and financial reporting activities related to its downstream operations. You will perform complex analyses, prepare journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and support the month-end close in compliance with U.S.

GAAP. The role partners with operations, commercial, supply, treasury, tax and FP&A teams to ensure accurate accounting for inventory, transportation, product movements and other

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience with general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• ERP experience with SAP/Oracle/JDE or similar.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules for downstream operations.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for financial reporting.
• Analyze financial results and investigate variances.
• Maintain balance sheet integrity with timely reconciliation of items.
• Support accounting for inventory, transportation, logistics, and product movements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Assist in preparing financial reports and management information.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
• Support audits and internal control activities.
• Identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency improvements.
• Participate in system implementations, acquisitions, and special projects.
