Job summary

Brown Machine Group, Beaverton, MI, is seeking a Senior Accountant to lead financial statement preparation and reporting for our manufacturing locations with a strong emphasis on cost accounting. You will maintain the general ledger, assist in cash flow forecasting, and support year-end audits while collaborating across departments in a manufacturing setting.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting with several years of cost/accounting experience, proficiency in Excel,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or equivalent) with 5 years of related experience.
Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general accounting systems.
ERP experience – Epicor preferred.
Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Prepare timely financial statements on a monthly and yearly basis in accordance with GAAP.
Reconcile and balance the general ledger and subsidiary ledger accounts monthly.
Initiate and enter journal entries.
Update and distribute the job cost report.
Assist in cash flow and financial forecasting.
Review intercompany balances monthly.
Review costing in system.
Manage daily cycle counts.
Initiate payments and obtain approvals from Controller and CFO.
Maintain daily inventory level reports for management.
Assist with year-end audit requests and budgeting.
