Greenfield Milling seeks a Senior Accountant for Cost to join the Corporate Accounting team in Denver, CO or Logan, UT. You will perform advanced cost accounting analyses comparing estimated vs actual costs and prepare budget reports, reviewing services and goods to advise on cost-efficient options.

You will establish cost standards for materials, labor, and overhead, support month-end closings, and assist audits.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of cost accounting experience, preferably in ingredient commodities or food manufacturing.
• Manufacturing experience is mandatory.
• CPA or CMA is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting/analysis.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel.
• Analytical and highly organized with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Gather and compile cost information and maintain cost databases.
• Establish labor hours for operations and routings.
• Act as accounting liaison during month-end inventories.
• Ensure ERP postings flow correctly; create inventory/variance accounts.
• Analyze cost standards and set conversion factors.
• Perform month-end and year-end closings and reconciliations.
• Assist with annual audits and provide cost-related analyses.

Job description

The Senior Accountant for Cost will be a key member of the Corporate Accounting team. This position is based in Denver, CO or Logan, UT. This individual will perform advanced cost accounting analyses to compare estimated costs to actual costs and prepare a variety of related budget reports.
