Job summary

Sungrow North America is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the finance team in a hybrid Costa Mesa, CA role. You will manage contract-based accounting, perform reconciliations, and support revenue recognition under ASC 606 to ensure financial integrity and compliance.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in accounting, strong US GAAP knowledge, and experience with SAP or similar ERP systems. This position collaborates across departments and supports audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in contract/project-based accounting.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
• Experience preparing account reconciliations, analyzing variances, and resolving discrepancies.
• Proficiency in SAP or other ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and reconciliations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to present financial data to management.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across departments and with external auditors.

Responsibilities

• Perform project reconciliations to validate billing accuracy, revenue reporting, and ASC 606 compliance.
• Review contracts and purchase orders to identify performance obligations and ensure proper revenue recognition.
• Review cash applications to ensure payments are posted to correct customers and invoices.
• Collaborate with Project Management, Operations, and Finance to monitor project financial performance and resolve billing matters.
• Assist with month-end close by ensuring invoicing, revenue, and GL transactions are recorded and reconciled.
• Support audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Assist with special projects, financial analyses, and other accounting responsibilities as needed.
