Launch Finance is a financial services firm dedicated to serving startups at all stages of growth across all industries with high-quality, cost-effective financial solutions. We are actively looking for a Senior Accountant to join our growing team. This is a full-time or part-time position working as an employee of Launch Finance while providing fractional accounting and consulting services to our startup clients (similar to a public accounting model — responsible for multiple clients).

Overview

Your responsibilities will vary depending on the size and complexity of the client. You may be responsible for accounts receivable, collections, accounts payable, bill.com, expense reporting, and general ledger accounts, including deferred revenue and fixed assets. You may also work cross-functionally supporting other client groups including payroll and HR — in the startup environment, wearing many hats is common.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Manage payables, expense reports, and vendor master files
• Prepare invoices, apply customer payments, and reconcile accounts receivable
• Potentially prepare and process payroll and related journal entries
• Participate in the month-end close process, including preparing account reconciliations
• Review and resolve accounting discrepancies and issues
• Manage cash, bank reconciliations, and cash burn reporting
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and FASB guidelines appropriate to the client's business size and nature
• Assist external tax professionals
• Support the development and maintenance of financial controls
• Payroll processing
• Prepare monthly internal financial statements

Requirements

Experience

• Experience as a Senior Accountant in a venture-backed technology company with strong attention to detail
• Support with multiple clients is a plus
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• At least 5 years of accounting experience
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks, Xero, bill.com, and expense software
• Payroll processing experience
• Experience preparing 1099s
• Providing audit support and documentation for the PBC list
• Updating budget models

Salary Range

The base salary ranges from $75,000 to $115,000, with potential bonuses and participation in the Productivity Bonus Program for those working over 40 hours/week. Salary is determined by role, level, location, skills, experience, and education.
