About The Role
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing team. This can be a full-time or part-time remote position. In this role, you will act as a fractional accountant for multiple startup clients, providing hands-on support for core accounting functions including accounts receivable and payable, payroll, reconciliations, financial reporting, and more. You’ll play a key role in month-end close, budgeting, audit support, and financial controls—while adapting to the dynamic and fast-paced startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable, expense reports, and vendor master files
• Prepare and issue invoices, reconcile accounts receivable, and apply customer payments
• Prepare and process payroll, including related journal entries
• Assist with month-end close and account reconciliations
• Address and resolve accounting discrepancies
• Handle bank reconciliations, cash reporting, and manage cash burn tracking
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and FASB guidelines
• Prepare monthly internal financial statements
• Assist external tax partners and provide audit support (e.g., PBC list)
• Maintain financial controls and update budget models
• Prepare 1099s and other year-end compliance documentation

Required Experience

• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience
• Experience working with venture-backed tech startups
• Previous work with multiple clients (public accounting or consulting environment preferred)
• Hands-on knowledge of QuickBooks, Xero, and expense software
• Strong payroll processing experience
• Prior experience supporting audits and budget updates
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA (active or inactive) preferred
• MBA or equivalent is a plus
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting required

Compensation And Benefits

• Salary range: $75,000 – $115,000 base (commensurate with experience, location, and qualifications)
