Job summary

CFS in Illinois is seeking a Senior Accountant to join a stable, onsite accounting team. This role offers broad exposure to GL, month-end close, job costing, WIP analysis, and project accounting, with visibility to senior leadership and finance management.

You will manage invoicing, billings, and cost reporting, support integration and special projects after a recent acquisition, and use advanced Excel to analyze financial data. Construction industry experience is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Senior accountant experience with the ability to work independently.
• Strong general ledger, month-end close, reconciliation, and financial reporting experience.
• Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting activities including general ledger functions, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and month-end close support.
• Prepare and analyze job cost reports, WIP schedules, change orders, and subcontractor billings.
• Support accounts payable processes, statement reconciliations, waiver tracking, and payment follow-up with general contractors.
• Perform invoicing, billing, cost reporting, and various accounting projects as assigned.
• Utilize advanced Excel tools to analyze financial data and prepare reporting.
