Job summary

John Deere in Johnston, IA is seeking a Senior Accountant for Consolidations and SEC Reporting to lead worldwide financial consolidation and external reporting for Deere entities. You will coordinate statements and ensure complete, accurate disclosures.

You will collaborate across departments, research accounting matters, and provide guidance on policy, with a focus on GAAP compliance and internal controls, delivering high-quality financial reporting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and coordinate the consolidation of worldwide financial results for John Deere Financial, ensuring complete, accurate, and compliant financial reporting.
  • Prepare and review quarterly SEC filings for John Deere Capital Corporation, ensuring complete, accurate, and compliant external financial reporting, and provide disclosure information to Deere & Company for enterprise reporting requirements.
  • Research technical accounting and reporting matters, prepare supporting analyses and documentation, and provide guidance on accounting policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments locally, internationally, and at Deere & Company to address accounting and reporting questions, evaluate the impact of business activities and transactions, and provide guidance on financial reporting matters.
  • Support process improvements, internal control activities, and other initiatives that enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and quality of financial reporting.

Your Responsibilities
  • Prepare and coordinate the consolidation of worldwide financial results for John Deere Financial, ensuring complete, accurate, and compliant financial reporting
  • Prepare and review quarterly Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings for John Deere Capital Corporation, ensuring complete, accurate, and compliant external financial reporting, and provide disclosure information to Deere & Company for enterprise reporting requirements

What Makes You Stand Out
  • Certified Public Accountant (active or inactive)
  • Experience at a global public accounting firm and/or public company
  • Experience preparing or reviewing SEC filings and U.S. GAAP financial statements
  • Experience with consolidations, accounting policy application, implementation of new accounting or disclosure requirements, and financial services industry experience
  • Financial services industry experience
Education

Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent related work experience
