APWU Health Plan is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Finance and Administration Department in Elkridge, MD. The role focuses on GAAP compliance, internal controls, and coordination of annual audits.

The Senior Accountant will lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, manage consolidated data, and prepare financial statements and schedules. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential for collaboration with management and external auditors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree required in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA certification preferred.
• 5–8 years of accounting or auditing experience.
• FARs knowledge and federal reporting exposure beneficial.
• Able to obtain/maintain government clearance.

Responsabilités

• Assist with implementing and maintaining internal controls and procedures.
• Lead and conduct monthly, quarterly and annual close and consolidation.
• Prepare variances, financial projections, statements and schedules.
• Manage PSHB cash flow and LOCA.
• Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits.
