Job summary

Bed Bath & Beyond is seeking a Senior Accountant focused on COGS in Dallas, TX. You will manage inventory transactions, perform reconciliations, and support monthly and year-end closes. Collaboration with departments and participation in audits and budgeting are key aspects of the role.

The ideal candidate has a accounting degree, 3+ years of GL experience with inventory/COGS, and retail familiarity. On-site role with strong analytical responsibilities awaits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • CPA or candidate preferred.
  • 3+ years of General Ledger experience with inventory/COGS focus.
  • Retail accounting experience is a plus.
  • Based in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.

Responsibilities

  • Manage inventory accounting transactions including shrink, stock movements and cost of sales analysis.
  • Perform inventory reconciliations and reporting; maintain the stock ledger.
  • Oversee monthly close, assist with audits, and support budgeting/forecasting.
  • Communicate with other departments on accounting issues and protect confidential information.

Our goal is to foster a more inclusive environment where every employee visibly demonstrates inclusive behaviors and respect for individuals.# Principal Duties and Responsibilities * Responsible for inventory accounting transactions, including but not limited to shrink, out of stock inventory movements, in-transit inventory, cost of sales analysis, product and freight receipts analysis, as well as stock ledger maintenance and reporting* Responsible for all inventory related reconciliations* Oversee other expense categories as assigned, including monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis* Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes* Communicate regularly with other departments on accounting related questions* Assist with interim and year-end audits* Assist in preparation of financial reports and monthly financial statement review* Support the annual budget and forecasting process as needed* Responsible for maintaining discretion related to all confidential/sensitive company and customer information* Consistently arrive promptly to work the assigned schedule* Perform all other assigned duties# Experience and Skills Required * Education: BS or BA, concentration in Accounting* CPA or CPA candidate preferred* 3+ years of General Ledger experience* Inventory/COGS experience is strongly preferred* Retail experience a plus* Based in Dallas/Ft.
