Job summary

Dierbergs Markets is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to own the monthly close, manage journal entries, reconciliations and PBCs, and provide day-to-day guidance to a Staff Accountant.

You will partner with store department leaders to deliver accurate financials, coordinate audits, and drive GAAP process improvements in a hybrid work environment.

A CPA with 5+ years’ experience, Oracle PeopleSoft or similar ERP, and advanced Excel skills will thrive, automating tasks and mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• CPA with a minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and GAAP.
• Solid understanding of GAAP, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Experience with general ledger/ERP systems (Oracle PeopleSoft or similar) and advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end close execution end-to-end: journal entries, reconciliations, and PBCs.
• Review and explain variances in Income Statement expense lines.
• Provide day-to-day guidance to Staff Accountant and mentor junior staff.
• Serve as finance point of contact for store departments; coordinate with auditors.
• Support preparation of financial statements and internal reports; automate processes when possible.
