Job summary

Dierbergs Markets is seeking a Senior Accountant to own the monthly close and serve as a finance point of contact for store leaders. You will manage a full set of journal entries, reconciliations, and PBCs, with close oversight by the Assistant Controller and Controller.

You will guide a Staff Accountant, driving clean, timely closes, and identifying opportunities to automate and improve processes. Strong GAAP knowledge and ERP experience are essential.

Qualifications

• CPA with at least 5 years of accounting experience.
• Solid knowledge of GAAP, including complex reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Experience with Oracle PeopleSoft or similar ERP and advanced Excel (VLOOKUP, pivots).

Responsibilities

• Own month-end close end-to-end and post journal entries.
• Reconcile high-risk accounts and assist variance analysis.
• Review income statement lines and provide explanations.
• Prepare financial statements and internal reports, including allocations and rollforwards.
• Mentor and review work of a Staff Accountant.
• Coordinate with external auditors and provide PBCs.
