Swarm Aero is seeking a senior Accountant who will own the monthly close, reconcile the general ledger, and manage cost accounting for prototypes to production. You will build the cost structure for government contracts and ensure tight controls across inventories and expenditures.

The role collaborates with finance leadership, operations, supply chain, and program teams to support audits and strategic growth.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience with close, reconciliations, and GL.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and judgment for non-obvious cases.
• Experience with audits, compliance reviews, or complex cost accounting.
• Experience handling inventory, PO, vendors, and production.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Strong Excel skills; experience with ERP/accounting systems (NetSuite).
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close: journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and audit-ready documentation.
• Account for inventory from prototypes to production: raw materials, WIP, finished goods, COGS.
• Develop and maintain cost structures for government contracts; indirect pools, allocation bases, rate tracking, unallowable costs separation.
• Support contract billing and revenue recognition across contract types.
• Prepare for and support external audits and government reviews; keep documentation ready.
• Research and write accounting treatments for new or unusual transactions.
• Run AP, expense reporting, and card program with proper controls.
• Document processes and strengthen internal controls as the company scales.
• Assist in evaluating and implementing new systems as we outgrow current tools.
