Job summary

Soni in New York is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to manage the close process, financial reporting, and budgeting support. You will partner with HR and operations to ensure accurate reporting and allocations, contributing to organizational growth.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in accounting/finance, 2–5 years of accounting experience, and strong Excel skills with Sage Intacct experience. CPA preferred but not required; detail-oriented with analytical and communicative strengths.

Responsibilities

• Support finance leadership with close process, audits, financial reporting (including 990), budgeting, and ad-hoc projects
• Manage key functions including revenue, payroll and benefits, fixed assets, leases, and expense reviews
• Prepare journal entries and reconciliations across assigned areas
• Monitor financial activity, ensure proper classifications, and maintain compliance with internal policies
• Partner cross-functionally (e.g., HR, operations) to support accurate reporting and allocations
• Assist with variance analysis, reporting, and ongoing financial process improvements
