Job summary

Talentify is seeking a Senior Accountant in Norwalk, CT to lead month-end and year-end close, prepare accurate financial statements, and provide analytical insights for strategic decisions. You will partner with Operations, Credit, and Servicing teams to monitor costs and profitability, supporting budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

The ideal candidate has about 7+ years of accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and advanced Excel skills. CPA preferred.

Qualifications

• Approximately 7+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
• Strong GAAP and financial reporting knowledge.
• Hands-on experience with month-end and year-end close.
• Ability to prepare reconciliations and financial statements.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and lookups.
• CPA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close activities, posting entries and reconciliations.
• Analyze financial and operational performance and provide actionable recommendations.
• Collaborate with Operations, Credit, and Servicing to monitor metrics and profitability.
• Assist in budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
• Prepare management reports and ad hoc analyses for decision making.
• Support portfolio reporting, reconciliations, and reserve analysis.
• Maintain general ledger including fixed assets and accruals.
• Identify process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
• Assist with audits and the maintenance of internal controls.
• Contribute to finance transformation and automation initiatives.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on FP&A and analytics.
• Use ERP systems and Excel for data analysis and reporting.
