Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior Accountant - Statutory in Stamford, CT to join our growing insurance client’s accounting team. You will support financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, and statutory reporting requirements.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and proficiency with Excel and ERP systems. This on-site role offers stability in a regulated industry and opportunities to improve processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a regulated industry preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial statement preparation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reporting packages.
• Perform month-end close activities including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Assist with regulatory and insurance-related financial reporting requirements.
• Investigate variances and provide supporting schedules for audits.
• Collaborate with other departments to obtain and validate financial information.
