Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the finance team in Brick, NJ. The role involves monthly close, financial reporting, and consolidations, working closely with Controllers to ensure accuracy and compliance.

The ideal candidate will have 2–3+ years of accounting experience, solid GAAP knowledge, and strong Excel skills. This position offers exposure to intercompany accounting, budgeting support, and potential discretionary bonuses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 2-3+ years of accounting experience.
• Experience with financial close and general ledger accounting.
• Experience with consolidations and intercompany transactions preferred.
• Exposure to SOX compliance and internal controls desirable.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly and year-end close processes and ensure timely, accurate accounting.
• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger activity.
• Assist with balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements.
• Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports and schedules.
• Review information for accuracy and compliance with policies and GAAP.
