James Moore & Co. P.L. is seeking a Senior Accountant for its CFO Services Advisory team.

The role focuses on owning the accounting infrastructure, ensuring financial integrity, and guiding monthly close processes for a diverse client base. Remote position with preference for the southeastern United States, working hours in the Eastern Time Zone. You will onboard clients, design close processes, collaborate with client teams, and develop budgets and cash flow forecasts to inform strategic

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of full‑cycle accounting experience, including primary ownership of month‑end close.
• Hands‑on experience in QuickBooks (Online and Desktop) and at least one true ERP system.
• Advanced Excel skills, including building and maintaining budget or forecast models.
• Experience building or materially improving a close process, not just executing one designed by others.
• Familiarity with AI tools to streamline reconciliation, data cleanup, and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead client onboarding for CFO Services engagements, including COA review, balance validation, system access, and historical cleanup.
• Partner with on‑site bookkeepers, accountants, and controllers; train on the close process and address capability gaps.
• Serve as the day‑to‑day accounting resource for client staff between close cycles.
• Step in as interim bookkeeper or accountant during turnover or coverage gaps; own full‑cycle close where needed.
• Manufacturing accounting responsibilities: inventory, job costing, standard costs, and tying subledgers to GL.
• Build and maintain budgets, rolling 13‑week cash flow forecasts, and variance analysis with CFO advisors.
• Utilize AI tools to automate reconciliation and data processes while ensuring accuracy.
