North Central Massachusetts-based consumer products company is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its growing finance team. The role reports to accounting leadership and will be involved in month-end close, deferred revenue accounting, reconciliations, payables, and financial reporting, offering broad exposure and visibility within a stable, expanding organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of accrual accounting, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting.
• Experience with deferred revenue accounting and account reconciliations.
• ERP experience required; NetSuite experience highly preferred.
• Experience with Avalara and multi-state sales tax compliance preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Inventory accounting experience preferred but not required.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with a high level of attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis.
• Prepare and post journal entries and support the month-end close process.
• Own deferred revenue accounting, including schedule maintenance, reconciliations, and monthly revenue recognition.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate financial records.
• Reconcile bank accounts, cash activity, and vendor statements.
• Process accounts payable transactions, vendor setup, and weekly payments via check, ACH, wire, and other payment methods.
• Reconcile credit card activity, prepayments, and other cash transactions.
• Ensure compliance with multi-state sales and use tax requirements.
• Assist with annual audits and the preparation of supporting schedules.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls.
