Job summary

Brown & Brown, Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Captive practice, overseeing day-to-day accounting for a portfolio of captive insurance entities. You will liaise with senior management and clients to deliver accurate financial reporting and strategic guidance.

Responsibilities include GAAP-based reporting, regulatory submissions, audit coordination, and client advisory support. Proficiency with Acumatica and other ERP tools is desired; a CPA is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within captive insurance, insurance, or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and insurance accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and enterprise accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead captive accounting and financial reporting, including GL maintenance, reconciliations, and customized reports.
• Prepare and review monthly/quarterly financial statement packages in GAAP/modified GAAP.
• Coordinate regulatory submissions and domicile filings across multiple jurisdictions.
• Manage audit preparation with external service providers and present findings to clients.
• Serve as the primary accounting contact for assigned captive clients and advise on accounting developments and controls.
