Job summary

Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine seeks a Senior Accountant responsible for capital and non-capital project accounting, asset management, and audit support. You will manage project setup in Workday, perform funding allocations, capitalization decisions, and monthly analyses supporting financial statements.

You will review journal entries, coordinate internal/external reports, and advise campus partners on accounting controls and compliance.

Qualifications

• Capital and project accounting experience including project setup and tracking
• Fixed asset accounting including capitalization and depreciation
• Experience with multiple funding sources and grant/budget controls
• ERP/financial systems with project/worktag configuration, Workday preferred
• Strong reporting and ad hoc analysis capabilities
• External reporting and survey support experience

Responsibilities

• Provide stewardship for capital project accounting and monthly analyses
• Manage fixed asset ledger, depreciation entries, and audit schedules
• Oversee non-capital project accounting and budget controls
• Prepare internal/external reporting and surveys including welfare benefit and tax data
• Collaborate with VP for Finance on bond-related activity and funding entries
• Review and approve journal entries from campus partners
