Job summary

Grip-Tite Manufacturing in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Sr. Accountant to support financial integrity, reporting, planning, and analysis. You will work with leadership to translate numbers into actionable business insights and help shape budgets and forecasts.

You’ll gain hands-on experience beyond transaction accounting, collaborate with manufacturing operations, and contribute to cost accounting, audits, and process improvements in a non-remote office setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Minimum five years of professional accounting or finance experience.
• Strong understanding of general ledger, income statements, balance sheets, and forecasting.
• Proficient in spreadsheets and accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Maintain GL and ensure transactions are accurately recorded.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting.
• Analyze income statement and balance sheet for variances.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Develop financial reports and dashboards for leadership.
• Assist with audits and external financial reporting.
• Perform inventory accounting and cost analysis as needed.
