Job summary

The Symicor Group seeks a Sr. Accountant based in Deerfield, IL to support all accounting and financial reporting functions.

You will prepare journal entries, assist with month-end close, and ensure accuracy of regulatory reports and financial statements. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, you will maintain strong internal controls and collaborate with auditors, tax advisors, and business partners to ensure compliance and timeliness of reporting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including banking context.
• Experience with GAAP and regulatory reporting, including call reports.
• Proven ability to communicate across all levels of the bank.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and record journal entries in line with GAAP and bank policy.
• Assist with month-end and quarter-end close processes within deadlines.
• Reconcile bank GL accounts (Fiserv) and holding company GL (QuickBooks).
• Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and collaborate with teams.
• Manage accounts payable and employee expense reimbursements.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for management and Board.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors; maintain internal controls.
