Job summary

The Symicor Group seeks a Bank Controller in the greater Chicago, IL area to oversee the bank’s accounting operations, ensure accurate reporting, and implement controls and budgets to mitigate risk. The role offers a salary up to $100K, a full benefits package, and potential bonus eligibility.

Responsibilities include regulatory reporting, financial statement preparation, and GAAP/IFRS compliance, with leadership of the Finance Operations team and collaboration with CFO and Compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Five or more years’ comprehensive accounting experience and at least two years managing the general ledger.
• Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state banking laws and regulations.
• Financial control and general ledger experience.
• Prior banking experience preferred.
• Proficient in using advanced Microsoft Excel and standard accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and filing the Bank’s Call Report, 10K, 10Q, regulatory, and financial reports before deadlines.
• Producing periodic financial reports for daily, monthly and annual monitoring.
• Maintaining an adequate system of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets to mitigate risk.
• Ensuring reported results comply with GAAP or IFRS.
• Forecasting the Bank’s financial performance and explaining deviations to budget.
• Working with Department Managers to create procedures for effective system usage and maintenance.
• Supervising Finance Operations staff and overseeing GL balancing.
• Providing back up support for monthly reconciliations and assisting audits.
