Job summary

The Carlyle Group is seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee day-to-day accounting for our private equity management operations in the United States. You will ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and efficient processes, working with senior leadership, investment professionals, and external providers.

Ideal candidates have a strong technical accounting background, 3–8+ years of experience in related sectors, and are comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance; CPA preferred.
• 3–8+ years progressive accounting experience in private equity, asset management, or financial services.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge; experience with audits and tax compliance.

Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting & Accounting: manage monthly/quarterly/annual close; prepare GAAP-compliant statements; maintain GL; review journals and reconciliations.
• Operational Accounting: oversee AP, expenses, cash management; monitor cash flow; support automation and controls.
• Tax & Compliance: assist with annual tax reporting; support audits; maintain regulatory documentation.
• Budgeting & Financial Planning: assist annual budget; monitor spend; support forecasting and cash planning.
• Aviation & Investment Support: coordinate accounting for aviation assets and investment-related allocations.
• Leadership: supervise accounting staff and foster professional development.
