Job summary

BerkleyNet is seeking a Senior Accountant to own complex close processes, improve financial controls, and deliver actionable insights across finance and operations. You will leverage automation and data visualization to enhance speed, accuracy, and usefulness of financial information.

Collaborating with cross-functional partners, you will drive process improvements, support audits, and contribute to evolving responsibilities in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA license or progress toward credential preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls; insurance accounting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and regulatory reporting.
• Investigate anomalies, identify root causes, and resolve issues.
• Combine financial and operational data to perform analyses.
• Develop dashboards and narratives for decision making.
• Define data definitions and validation controls to improve data quality.
• Identify processes for automation and map current workflows.
• Test automated outputs and measure benefits.
• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Technology and other teams to improve processes.
• Support audits, regulatory requests, and system implementations.
