Job summary

BNY seeks a Sr Specialist for its Controllers team in Pittsburgh. You will support a portfolio of entities with accounting, financial reporting, governance, and control responsibilities to deliver timely financial information.

You will execute month-, quarter-, and year-end close activities, prepare reporting packages, assist audits, and collaborate across Finance, Treasury, Tax, Legal, Regulatory Reporting, Risk, and Tech to drive improvements and automation of processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting/Finance required.
• 3-5 years of relevant accounting or finance experience preferred.
• Knowledge of GAAP and accounting concepts preferred.
• Accounting concentration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute and analyze month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare and review financial reporting packages for management, board, regulators and external stakeholders.
• Support internal and external audits, regulatory examinations, and control testing activities.
• Analyze financial results, identify key drivers, and provide management with insights on trends and risks.
• Collaborate with Finance, Treasury, Tax, Legal, Regulatory Reporting, Risk, Technology and other teams to support governance and strategic initiatives.
• Provide guidance to junior team members and assist in implementing new accounting standards and process improvements.
