Notion is building the connected AI workspace where teams and AI tools live together. Notion is seeking a Senior Accountant to join Corporate Accounting in San Francisco, owning general ledger and month-end close, and partnering with FP&A to ensure timely, accurate reporting at Notion’s scale.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and leverage AI-enabled automation to streamline workflows and drive improvements, with anchor days in the office on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and accrual accounting.
• 5+ years with hands-on ownership of month-end close processes.
• Proficiency with NetSuite and AI-driven automation for workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with FP&A and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Ownership, sound judgment, and a continuous-improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Own assigned areas across monthly, quarterly, and annual close with accurate journal entries and close documentation.
• Independently manage close areas by day 90, perform reconciliations, and resolve items.
• Analyze results and explain variance drivers in management reporting with stakeholders.
• Leverage AI-enabled tools to streamline analyses, reconciliations, and recurring workflows.
• Strengthen controls and processes across areas to support accurate financial statements.
• Drive scalable improvements across Corporate Accounting in collaboration with FP&A, AP, and Legal.
