Job summary

A premier utility company based in Phoenix is searching for a Senior Accountant to support audit readiness and critical accounting processes. This hands-on role involves managing audit deliverables, performing reconciliations, and preparing journal entries. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of general ledger accounting experience, a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, and strong Excel skills. Randstad is partnering with a premier $80 million/year utility company based in Phoenix to find a hands‑on Senior Accountant to support audit readiness and critical accounting processes in a fast‑growing build‑up environment.

Opportunity

• Compensation: $70,000 to $80,000 base salary + 10% annual bonus based on experience.
• Work schedule: Hybrid – 3 days in office in Phoenix.

Core Responsibilities

• Manage PBC packages and drive execution during audit deliverables.
• Perform monthly bank and balance sheet account reconciliations and assist with monthly close activities.
• Prepare journal entries for accruals, payroll, and fixed assets, including tracking depreciation.
• Reconcile AR aging and AP subledgers directly to the GL.
• Document core processes and contribute to the development of new SOPs.

What You Bring

• Minimum 3 years of experience in general ledger accounting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Strong Excel proficiency (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) and experience with Sage Intacct and/or QuickBooks.
• Detail‑oriented professional capable of operating independently with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment.
• Experience in utility accounting is a significant plus.
