Insight Global is seeking a Senior Accountant to join a growing manufacturing organization in Youngstown, OH. This individual will play a key role in both operational accounting and manufacturing cost accounting activities, with responsibility for month-end close, financial reporting, inventory and cost analysis, and supporting plant leadership with financial insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting and/or finance experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Manufacturing accounting experience, including inventory and cost accounting.
• Experience owning or heavily supporting month-end close activities.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience working within an ERP system.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Own and execute the monthly close process for the facility.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, income statements, and variance reporting.
• Manage manufacturing and inventory accounting activities, including cost center analysis and product costing.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives.
• Develop and present financial reports and business performance metrics to leadership.
• Analyze operational and financial data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Maintain compliance with GAAP and internal accounting controls.
• Utilize ERP systems and advanced Excel functions to support reporting and analysis.

The ideal candidate has a strong accounting foundation, experience in a manufacturing environment, and a solid understanding of inventory, costing, and financial statement preparation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and execute the monthly close process for the facility
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, income statements, and variance reporting
• Manage manufacturing and inventory accounting activities, including cost center analysis and product costing
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives
• Develop and present financial reports and business performance metrics to leadership
• Analyze operational and financial data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
• Maintain compliance with GAAP and internal accounting controls
• Utilize ERP systems and advanced Excel functions to support reporting and analysis

This role is approximately a 50/50 blend of Senior Accountant and Cost Accountant responsibilities. The client is specifically seeking someone with a strong manufacturing background who understands inventory, costing, cost centers, and plant financials. Experience owning month-end close and presenting financial results to leadership will be critical for success in this position.

Candidate will be a direct-hire employee of our client, eligible to enroll in their benefits plans. Compensation sits between $73-109k with bonus opportunity as well. This role is 100% onsite in Youngstown, OH.
