Job summary

Onto Innovation in Wilmington, MA is seeking a Senior Accountant to strengthen the general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting processes. You will partner with finance and operations to ensure data accuracy and drive process improvements.

The role requires 3–5 years of accounting experience, strong U.S. GAAP knowledge, and hands-on ERP skills. A CPA or CPA progress is preferred, with opportunities for growth and exposure to SOX controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, NetSuite).
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups).
• CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for month-end and quarter-end close.
• Analyze general ledger activity and investigate variances and reconciling items.
• Prepare financial statements and internal reporting packages.
• Maintain accounting records in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies.
• Assist with fixed asset accounting, capitalization, transfers, and depreciation.

• Support internal and external audits with schedules and explanations.
