Job summary

Atkore is seeking a Senior Accountant for the Weatherford, TX facility to lead month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and corporate reporting under US GAAP. Reporting to the Sr.

Finance Manager, the role requires a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of accounting experience, with strong Excel and ERP system skills. Key duties include journal entries, policy development, internal controls (SOX), cross-functional collaboration, and ongoing process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Excellent computer skills including Excel, Word, and data query tools
• Experience with JD Edwards, SAGE, AS400 and Hyperion preferred
• Ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly in writing and speech
• Ability to take initiative by identifying problems and implementing change
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation of the monthly flux analysis for management review
• Prepare audit support for external and internal audits
• Assist in developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures and performing internal control procedures (SOX)
• Establish effective relationships and work cross-functionally across the organization
• Drive process improvements and efficiencies for areas of responsibility
• Participate in special projects, analysis, and reporting as required by management
• Develop & implement processes into Shared Services for selected areas

Who we are looking for:

We are currently searching for a Senior Accountant to be based out of our Weatherford, TX facility. Reporting to the Sr. Finance Manager, this role will be responsible for preparing and completing the month end financial close process including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and corporate supplemental reporting templates and compliance reporting in accordance with US GAAP. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of accounting or finance experience.

What you’ll do:

• Prepare month‑end journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and monthly close deliverables
• Assist in preparation of the monthly flux analysis for management review
• Prepare audit support for external and internal audits

What you’ll bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Excellent computer skills including Excel, Word, and data query tools
• Experience with JD Edwards, SAGE, AS400 and Hyperion preferred
• Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, complex technical issues in a clear, concise matter, to individuals with little or no technical background
• Ability to take initiative by identifying problems, conceptualizing resolutions, and implementing change
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced team environment with minimum supervision; ability to work efficiently and accurately with details and fluctuating work volumes

Within 3 Months you’ll

• Complete your Atkore immersion plan
• Develop relationships within the Finance team and other key personnel
• Understand Atkore policies for accounting and internal controls
• Learn fundamentals of JDE and other software related to role

Within 6 Months you’ll

• Assume full responsibility for all journal entries related to position
• Assume full responsibility for all reconciliations related to position

Within 12 months you’ll

• Be subject matter expert in your processes and procedures
• Be able to provide suggestions for process improvements
• Be able to take on more responsibilities as needed

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $75,360 - $103,620. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
