Job summary

VSP Technologies is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis. You will support intercompany reconciliations, month-end close, and reporting while handling ad hoc projects.

Five-plus years of accounting and Balance Sheet reconciliation experience are required, with intermediate to advanced Excel and ERP experience (Sage 500 preferred). CPA preferred; full-time role based in the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• Minimum of five years of accounting experience.
• At least five years of Balance Sheet reconciliation experience.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP systems; Sage 500 preferred but not required.
• CPA license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Record journal entries for various accounts.
• Perform Balance Sheet reconciliations (bank, intercompany, accruals, prepaids, payroll accruals).
• Coordinate and reconcile intercompany accounts.
• Analyze fluctuations in general ledger activity to validate statements.
• Support month-end close activities.
• Assist with collections efforts as needed.
• Prepare financial reports and support audits.
• Handle ad hoc requests and projects.

Job description

The Senior Accountant role is involved in all areas of accounting. The Senior Accountant is primarily responsible for journal entries, reconciliations, financial statement analysis, intercompany reconciliations, reporting and special projects.

Essential Functions

• Record various journal entries
• Balance Sheet reconciliation (ex: bank, intercompany, accruals, prepaids, payroll accruals, etc.)
• Intercompany coordination and reconciliations
• Fluctuation analysis of general ledger activity to validate accuracy and completeness of financial statements
• Support accounting month-end close process
• Assists with collections efforts
• Prepare various financial reports
• Support audits (internal, external, etc.)
• Prepare ad hoc requests and projects as needed

Experience / Education

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• Minimum of five years of experience in accounting
• Minimum of five years of Balance Sheet reconciliation experience
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Minimum of five years of experience with ERP's (Sage 500 preferred but not required)
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
• CPA (Preferred)
