WHAT YOU'LL DO
We are seeking a well-rounded and motivated Accountant III (Senior Accountant) to join our growing Finance team. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and integrity of financial transactions. You will handle a variety of key accounting and financial reporting processes, maintain financial data, and ensure internal controls are followed to maintain the integrity of the company’s financial records. Your expertise in GAAP, SEC regulations, and accounting will support Coastal’s financial stability and strategic growth.
Requirements
HOW YOU'LL DO IT
- Perform complex reconciliations of cash and general ledger accounts.
- Partner with teams across the organization (Bank Operations, Finance, HR, Payroll) to investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Prepare and analyze SEC, regulatory, and Board of Directors financial reports.
- Develop and record accurate general ledger entries, maintaining financial integrity.
- Prepare or review financial schedules for audits, financial reporting, and management.
- Monitor and report on the progress of software development projects, ensuring accurate cost allocation.
- Handle accounting and reporting of stock-based compensation, including expense recognition and equity transactions.
- Utilize Workiva and advanced Microsoft Excel skills to enhance and automate financial processes.
- Read, interpret, and apply GAAP, SEC, and regulatory guidance to ensure full compliance.
- Maintain and update written accounting plans, desktop procedures, and documentation for assigned functions.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in financial reconciliation, general ledger accounting or regulatory reporting.
- Expertise in digital payments accounting and financial reconciliations.
- Strong understanding of GAAP compliance, SEC reporting, and banking regulations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, VBA).
- Proficiency in financial data analysis tools such as Workiva is a plus.
- Experience in banking, financial services, or fintech preferred.

Salary Description
$80,000.00 - $96,270.00 annually
