Job summary

Mount Kemble Search Group in Thomaston, CT is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the Plant Controller and maintain accurate records in line with Internal Control standards. This is onsite in Thomaston, CT, Monday through Friday.

You will manage balance sheet reconciliations, cost accounting, and inventory reporting while partnering with the finance team to drive process improvements and robust internal controls across the manufacturing function.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• LEAN manufacturing experience is preferred.
• 3-5 years experience in cost accounting/financial control.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Analytical mindset with cost-focused thinking.

Senior Accountant - Thomaston, CT - $90-110k

The Senior Accountant is an exciting opportunity to support the Plant Controller in maintaining accurate records to conform to Internal Control standards. This is onsite in Thomaston, CT Mon-Fri.

Responsibilities

• Manage Balance Sheet reconciliations. Cash, fixed assets, other assets and liabilities Ensure highest levels of consistency and accuracy in financial communication and be able to identify and resolve reconciling items.
• Working capital management: work jointly with the finance group to report on reduction initiatives (A/P payment term conditions, optimized internal flows, inventory reporting).
• Active involvement in application of solid internal control processes (Group authorization and business process rules, risk assessments, internal audits).
• Assist the Controller in maintaining reporting schedules and controlling tools as part of company’s integration within scope of a new shareholder.
• Manage cost accounting system, maintain accurate costing information, and effectively deliver inventory reports / analysis.
• Develop a sound and extensive understanding of industrial activities in order to display value-added analysis.
• Participate in building an efficient cost-control environment and advanced analytical view on industrial performance (product costing, KPI’s).
• Assist the Controller to monitor the execution of budget/forecasts/business plans; recommend and contribute to implement countermeasures to offset identified variances.
• Act as a strong team player and provide general support to the progressive strengthening of Finance/Accounting team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance.
• Experience working ln LEAN manufacturing environment is ideal.
• 3-5 years relevant cost accounting / financial control experience.
• Financial management and internal controls experience in manufacturing environment.
• Experience with a modern ERP system (SAP, Oracle).
• Self- starter in need of little direction.
• Confident communicator with an ability to collaborate with a team/build strong relationships.
• Excellent analytical ability
