Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and post journal entries according to U.S. GAAP.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and variance analysis.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations with cross-functional collaboration.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close and inter-company accounting activities.
  • Support audit readiness and internal controls documentation.

Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated accounting professional to support general ledger accounting, financial reporting, bank reconciliations, and month-end close activities. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP.

The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, experience with ERP systems, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:
Key Responsibilities
General Ledger & Financial Reporting
  • Maintain and reconcile all general ledger accounts; prepare and post journal entries in accordance with U.S. GAAP, ensuring accuracy and completeness of the general ledger.
  • Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations for all company accounts; investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner to ensure cash accuracy.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations (GL reconciliations); identify variances and partner cross-functionally to resolve outstanding items within close deadlines.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports, providing variance analysis and commentary on results.
  • Ensure all accounting activities comply with U.S. GAAP, internal policies, and internal control standards.
Month-End & Year-End Close
  • Participate in monthly and annual close process, including preparation of accruals, prepaid amortization, and other recurring entries to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Coordinate close calendar activities with the finance department and cross-functional teams; proactively flag risks to close timeline and elevate as needed.
  • Maintain fixed asset roll-forward, recording additions, disposals, and depreciation schedules in accordance with company policy;
  • Own inter-company accounting across entities, including transaction recording, eliminations, and monthly reconciliation to zero.
Compliance, Controls & Audit Support
  • Support audit readiness and documentation compilation.
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements; assist with sales/use tax filings and other statutory obligations as directed.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, strengthen internal controls, and improve reporting accuracy and close efficiency.
Collaboration & Team Support
  • Partner with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and other Finance functions to resolve escalated issues, improve workflows, and maintain data integrity across systems.
  • Take ownership of ad hoc projects and special analyses as assigned by the Director of Finance or CFO, driving tasks to completion with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • CPA license or active pursuit of CPA certification preferred.
Minimum Experience
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience in a public accounting or corporate accounting.
  • Experience with bank reconciliations, GL reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close processes.
  • Experience in a multi-entity or project-based preferred; exposure to audit support a plus.
Proven Abilities
  • Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, the close process, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and implement corrections with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Track record of producing accurate, timely deliverables and communicating financial results clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Technical Skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data modeling).
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, or similar); Experience with Sage Intacct strongly preferred, including GL, cash management, and reporting modules..
  • Familiarity with internal controls and external audits.
