Job summary

WatchGuard Technologies, Inc. in Seattle, WA is seeking an experienced accounting professional to support the general ledger and monthly close under the Corporate Controller. You will ensure GAAP compliance, refine policies, and manage the monthly close and financial reporting processes.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA & public accounting experience preferred.
• 3+ years in accounting roles with equivalent responsibilities.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge and month-end close experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist in month-end closing of the general ledger, including preparation and recording of journal entries, preparation and review of balance sheet account reconciliations
• Ensure estimates, accruals, prepayments, reserves and provisions are calculated and supported with appropriate basis or backup, in accordance with US GAAP
• Review trial balance and financial statements for completeness and accuracy
• Ownership of fixed assets accounting for the company
• Research accounting guidance and provide recommendation on accounting treatment and application
• Update consolidated general ledger for transactions in overseas operations
• Review financial reports produced by international bookkeepers and assist in reclaiming VAT, GST, etc.

About the Position

The WatchGuard accounting team is primarily based in Seattle, WA with numerous accountants around the world supporting international operations.

This position reports to the Corporate Controller and is responsible for various aspects of the general ledger as assigned. Areas of responsibility include assuring company compliance with generally accepted accounting principles; development, improvement of and compliance with company policies and procedures; and management of the monthly closing process and financial reporting.

Position Responsibilities

• Assist in month-end closing of the general ledger, including preparation and recording of journal entries, preparation and review of balance sheet account reconciliations

Skills and Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Highly detail-oriented with excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills

Compensation

The base salary range is $90,000-$110,000 per year for full-time employment, exclusive of benefits. Your base salary will be determined by your individual skills, education, and experience. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical in order to allow for future salary growth.
