Job summary

Vaco is seeking a Senior Accountant in Scottsdale, AZ, onsite, to own the month-end close and GL activities while contributing to financial reporting, forecasting, audits, and process improvements. The role offers base salary between $100,000 and $115,000 plus an annual bonus opportunity.

You will engage in management reporting, budgeting, and tax support, with mentorship and professional development emphasis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3+ years of public accounting and/or private industry accounting experience covering the full close cycle.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and full-cycle accounting.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• CPA designation or active progress toward CPA.
• Experience with accounting systems, reporting tools, or BI tools.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
• Full-time, onsite availability in Scottsdale.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close process, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Maintain general ledger integrity by investigating and resolving reconciling items.
• Prepare recurring KPI, scorecard, and management reporting.
• Maintain supporting data for reporting and dashboards and help improve recurring processes.
• Prepare supplemental reporting and ad hoc financial analysis for internal stakeholders.
• Support annual and rolling forecasts, including actuals and variance analysis.
• Coordinate preparation for annual audits and tax filings and respond to external requests.
• Execute and strengthen financial reporting controls and identify opportunities to improve manual processes.
• Support system upgrades, automation initiatives, and other accounting-related special projects.

Vaco has partnered with an established professional services organization to hire a Senior Accountant in North Scottsdale, Arizona! This hands-on role will own core accounting operations, including month-end close and general ledger activities, while providing meaningful exposure to financial reporting, forecasting, audit and tax support, and process improvement.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Base salary of $100,000-$115,000, depending on experience
