Job summary

247Hire is looking for a Senior Accountant in Scottsdale, Arizona, to lead the accounting function during its growth phase. This role involves managing financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, and high-volume accounting operations independently.

The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in accounting, a Bachelor's degree in a related field, and strong Excel skills. Experience with Sage Intacct and CPA or CMA designation will be a plus.

Senior Accountant Role

The Senior Accountant will serve as the primary accounting lead for the organization and play a key role in stabilizing and organizing the accounting function during a period of transition and growth. This position is heavily transactional and high volume, requiring someone comfortable working in the weeds while managing core accounting operations independently.

Responsibilities

• Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
• Maintaining the general ledger and reconciliations
• Overseeing journal entries and month end close
• Processing and managing high volume accounting activity
• Supporting audit and tax preparation activities
• Improving accounting workflows and helping automate manual processes
• Assisting with cleanup and structure within the accounting department
• Eventually helping oversee and delegate work to a future Staff Accountant

Preferred

• Senior Accountant level experience
• Professional services industry background
• Sage Intacct experience
• Experience cleaning up or improving disorganized accounting processes
• CPA or CMA designation
