Louis Vuitton U.S. Manufacturing Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant to support full-cycle accounting operations for multiple manufacturing sites in California and Texas. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this role is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate execution of general ledger accounting, month-end and year-end close, account reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, intercompany transactions, and selected compliance reporting.

The Senior Accountant plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial records, ensuring compliance with company policies, internal controls, US GAAP and group reporting standards. This position also partners closely with FP&A, Treasury, Accounts Payable, and operations teams to support financial reporting, process improvement, and sound business decision-making.

Job responsibilities

This position will support multiple manufacturing sites in California and Texas and in addition to the above will also be responsible for:

General Ledger & Month-End Close

  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including fixed assets depreciation, inventory reserves, accruals and other adjusting entries.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies between sub-ledgers and the general ledger.
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Serve as backup for other Senior Accountants in areas including payroll and benefits, T&E reviews, benefits accounting, prepaid amortization, treasury entries and payment runs.

Reporting and Analysis

  • Prepare and submit monthly group reporting, including sales, profit and loss, and balance sheet reporting in Syrus (Group reporting tool).
  • Partner with FP&A and management to research accounting issues, explain variances, and support business decisions.
  • Develop and maintain reconciliations, management reports, and KPIs to monitor trends, improve controls, and support operational performance.

Fixed Assets Lifecycle Management

  • Own the end-to-end fixed asset process, including asset setup, transfers, disposals, physical tracking, and reconciliation of subsidiary records to the general ledger.
  • Capitalize completed Construction in Progress (CIP) projects on a timely basis and ensure accurate depreciation based on useful life.
  • Coordinate with operations on asset acquisitions, retrofits, transfers, disposals, and sales—ensuring proper contract execution, documentation, approvals, and receipt of funds prior to asset release.

Internal Controls, Compliance & Regulatory Reporting

  • Maintain compliance with company policies, internal control requirements, and group reporting standards.
  • Support the implementation and communication of accounting policies and control procedures in alignment with central finance requirements.
  • Prepare regulatory filings and supporting documentation, including sales and use tax, 1099 reporting, property tax, and other federal and state filings, as applicable.
  • Assist with annual audits, tax preparation, and requests from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support vendor master data controls, including new vendor setup, in coordination with Accounts Payable.

Intercompany & Treasury Operations

  • Reconcile and validate domestic and international intercompany balances and coordinate issue resolution with internal counterparts.
  • Collaborate with Treasury on cash flow reporting, cash account reconciliation, and payment run review.
  • Review accounts receivable aging, investigate outstanding balances, and coordinate follow-up as needed.

Process Improvement, Reporting & Projects

  • Lead or support accounting process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, strengthen controls, and reduce close timelines.
  • Participate in system and business transformation projects, including ERP or SAP-related implementations and enhancements.
Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent from an accredited university
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
