Job summary

ProspectBlue is partnering with a well-established organization to identify a Senior Accountant to join its growing finance team. The role is hands-on and focused on day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, consolidations, and financial reporting across multiple entities.

The ideal candidate will understand the why behind the numbers, work independently, and seek opportunities to improve processes and strengthen internal controls within the broader finance function.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–5+ years of accounting experience in a public accounting or corporate environment.
• Experience with multiple entities and consolidations.
• CPA or CPA eligibility preferred.
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles and month-end close.
• Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems and Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Self-starter who can think independently and work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and reclassifications.
• Support the consolidation of multiple entities and currencies.
• Assist with intercompany billing, eliminations, and reconciliations.
• Perform balance sheet and other account reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Support month-end close activities and ensure deadlines are met.
• Maintain supporting schedules and documentation for financial reporting and audit purposes.
• Assist with fixed asset accounting, additions, disposals, and depreciation.
• Record and reconcile procurement card activity and accruals.

This is a hands-on accounting role with responsibility for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, consolidations, and financial reporting across multiple entities.

The ideal candidate is someone who understands the “why” behind the numbers, can think independently, and is comfortable taking ownership of their work. What You’ll Do:

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and reclassifications
• Support the consolidation of multiple entities and currencies
• Assist with intercompany billing, eliminations, and reconciliations
• Perform balance sheet and other account reconciliations and investigate and resolve variances
• Support month-end close activities and ensure deadlines are met
• Maintain supporting schedules and documentation for financial reporting and audit purposes
• Assist with fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, and depreciation
• Maintain prepaid expense schedules and related amortization
• Record and reconcile procurement card (P-card) activity, including accruals and postings
• Analyze accounts to ensure transactions are properly classified and reported
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure financial information is accurate and complete
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and strengthen internal controls
• Provide support across the accounting function and take on additional responsibilities as needed

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 3–5+ years of accounting experience in a public accounting or corporate environment
• Experience working with multiple entities and/or consolidations
• CPA or CPA eligibility preferred
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles and month-end close
• Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
• Excellent attention to detail and organization
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with employees and leaders across the organization
• Most importantly, a self-starter who thinks critically, asks questions, and can work independently
