Position: Senior Accountant

Industry Requirements: SaaS Industry, ASC 606, CPA required, Hybrid location - Cary, NC.

We are partnering with a SaaS company seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join their team. This role involves managing revenue accounting, financial reporting, software capitalization, and overseeing daily accounting operations such as commissions, accounts payable, receivable, cash applications, and sales tax filings.

Responsibilities:

• Manage revenue accounting, including client contract interpretation, entry, management, and organization, primarily over-time project revenue requiring manual effort.
• Coordinate with operational teams like Sales Leadership, Sales Operations, Legal, and Delivery related to revenue processes.
• Assist the Controller with daily accounting operations including commissions, payables, receivables, cash applications, and sales tax filings.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and reports for advanced accounting areas like software capitalization, finance leases, and SaaS revenue recognition.
• Support the monthly close process related to revenue, unbilled receivables, and deferred revenue, collaborating with the AR team.
• Participate in internal and external audits and tax engagements, including financial statement audits, 401K audits, tax returns, and R&D credit studies.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance; Master's preferred.
• CPA certification required.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in revenue-focused roles or a mix of public and corporate accounting.
• Experience with subscription, consulting, or project-based revenue, especially ASC 606.
• Strong attention to detail, process orientation, and drive.
• Ability to prepare memos for non-routine transactions.
• Strong analytical skills and system implementation experience.
• Effective communication, interpersonal skills, and team orientation.
• Ability to prioritize, manage multiple responsibilities, work independently, and make decisions.
