Position Summary
Our client is seeking a motivated accounting professional to join a collaborative corporate accounting and reporting team. This role will be a key contributor to financial accounting, period-end close, financial reporting, and internal controls.
The Senior Corporate Accountant will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial information in accordance with U.S. GAAP while partnering with stakeholders across the organization. This individual will also support process improvements, automation initiatives, and enhancements to accounting systems and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including preparation and recording of accounting transactions.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Perform variance analysis and investigate accounting or business unit inquiries.
- Maintain compliance with internal controls and identify opportunities to strengthen accounting processes and mitigate risk.
- Manage and respond to internal and external audit requests related to assigned areas.
- Research and interpret technical accounting guidance and assist with implementation as needed.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure transactions and business activities are appropriately reflected in the financial statements.
- Support accounting-related aspects of organizational and operational change initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve and automate accounting processes, reporting, and systems.
- Develop subject matter expertise and ownership over assigned accounting areas.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience with exposure to financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and/or audit.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles.
- CPA or progress toward CPA preferred, but not required.
- Experience working with ERP systems; experience with a large-scale ERP platform is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the ability to independently research and resolve issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively partner across departments.
- Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and attention to detail.
