Job summary

Atlantic Strategic Minerals seeks a Senior Accountant to manage the full accounting cycle and deliver GAAP-compliant financial reporting for mining operations. This role provides insights into production costs and cost-control initiatives to support site leadership.

The role requires 5–7 years in accounting, strong GAAP/cost accounting knowledge, ERP experience, and Excel proficiency. CPA preferred; collaboration across departments is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in mining or heavy manufacturing accounting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, inventory valuation methods (FIFO, weighted average, standard cost).
• Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• CPA designation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate and timely financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) in accordance with S. GAAP and company policies.
• Analyze actual results versus budget and forecast, focusing on mining production costs, equipment utilization, and recovery rates.
• Partner with site leadership to support operational efficiency and cost control initiatives.
• Serve as primary administrator for the company's ERP system (SAP Business One).
• Prepare and review reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts, including cash, inventories, asset retirement obligations, and fixed assets.
• Support the maintenance of a strong internal control environment in line with corporate and regulatory standards.
• Prepare audit schedules and provide documentation for internal and external auditors
• Monitor and analyze production costs, standard costing, and work-in-progress (WIP)

• Advanced proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• CPA designation (active or in progress) preferred.
