Job summary

Sotalent is seeking a Senior Accountant to support plant and corporate accounting, including month-end close, reporting, cost and asset accounting in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities include journal entries, reconciliations, and capital project tracking, with close collaboration with plant operations and finance leadership. CPA eligibility is encouraged and SAP experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• 3+ years of manufacturing accounting or audit experience.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, journal entries and reporting.
• Experience with cost accounting, inventory, fixed assets or capital projects preferred.
• CPA or CMA certification preferred; CPA exam eligibility encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily and monthly production, inventory and cost accounting reports.
• Monitor production, shipments and inventory; reconcile monthly balances in SAP.
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries for month-end and year-end closes.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and analyse general ledger balances.
• Support capital project tracking, fixed asset accounting and capex analysis.
• Monitor capital projects through completion and asset retirements.
• Assist with the annual operating budget and financial planning activities.
• Assist with accounts payable, investigate discrepancies and resolve issues.
• Assist with internal and external audits, quarter-end and year-end activities.
• Develop financial reports and support special accounting projects.

About the Role

A leading industrial manufacturing organisation is seeking a Senior Accountant to support plant and corporate accounting activities, including month-end close, financial reporting, cost accounting, reconciliations, fixed assets and capital projects.

The role works closely with plant operations and finance leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting, effective controls and timely accounting processes in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare daily and monthly production, inventory and cost accounting reports.
• Monitor production, shipments and inventory and reconcile monthly balances in SAP.
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries for month-end and year-end close.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and analyse general ledger balances.
• Support capital project tracking, fixed asset accounting and capital expenditure analysis.
• Monitor capital projects through completion and ensure appropriate asset retirements.
• Assist with the annual operating budget and financial planning activities.

• Develop financial reports and support special accounting projects.
• Provide additional accounting and administrative support to plant operations as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing accounting, public accounting or audit.
• Experience with SAP or comparable ERP/accounting systems.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, journal entries and financial reporting.
• Experience with cost accounting, inventory, fixed assets or capital projects preferred.
• CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• Candidates eligible to sit for the CPA exam or actively pursuing CPA licensure are encouraged to apply.
