Position Summary

The Senior Accountant supports the day-to-day accounting operations of a small, collaborative finance team. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end closing, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, including accruals and adjustments
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Own the update of actuals reporting and Amex/T&E reconciliations
• Own the reconciliations for Shopify, Amazon, Sysco, Faire, TikTok
• Support accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions as needed
• Maintain and update fixed asset/prepaid schedules and record depreciation/amortization
• Assist in preparing financial statements and internal reportsEnsure accuracy and completeness of financial data
• Support audits by preparing schedules and documentation
• Help improve/implement new accounting processes and internal controls
• Assist the controller with other ad hoc reporting

Qualifications & Attributes

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3–5 years of accounting experience, ideally within a small to mid-sized CPG based company
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP knowledge preferred)
• Experience with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, Business Central, or similar)
• Exposure to full-cycle accounting processes
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong record of complex project management with multi-disciplinary teams
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate across teams
• Ability to prioritize and effectively measure and drive for results in an entrepreneurial work environment
